General information
AENON House
is over 200 years old. Here in 1807 the
Reverend Micah Thomas founded the first Baptist Teaching College in Wales. Although the house was built before this date,
its full history is not clear. The Reverend Thomas remained registered as the owner
until at least 1844 when the tithes (property taxes) for the town were
scheduled.
We
are within easy walking distance of the town centre for access to shops,
banks, pubs and restaurants, etc.
Rooms
We
have three letting bedrooms, a twin, a double and a single (with a ¾ size
bed), all with colour
television and tea/coffee making
facilities. This is the twin bedroom, which has a washbasin.
There is a large fully equipped bathroom (with the original
Victorian bath!) and also a separate shower/toilet. We are therefore usually
in a position to offer private facilities to our guests.

Rooms
Breakfast
is served each morning in the dining
room which features a nineteenth century kitchen range
(non-operational!). Continental breakfast can be served in your room or, weather
permitting, in the beautiful walled garden. Adjoining the dining room
is a comfortable lounge which guests are invited to use as they wish.
Garden
The
garden extends to about a third of an acre, mostly lawn and mature trees and
shrubs and we welcome guests using the garden when they rest their
weary limbs after a day hiking around the beautiful countryside surrounding
the town of Abergavenny!
Parking etc.
There is plenty of
parking space within the property for guests' cars. Garaging for cycles and
motor bikes is also available if required.
Drying facilities for
wet clothes (it sometimes rains in Wales!) are provided.
